White River Bloodhounds is proud to be a part of what God intended Bloodhounds to do, TRACK! Several of our dogs are working in different capacities throughout the United States. Law Enforcement, Search and Rescue and deer trailing.
We have been very blessed to have two of our dogs working in the Salt Lake City and South Salt Lake City, Utah Police Departments. These are very special dogs with very special handlers. An entire year went into getting the pups ready for Metro tracking which is a very difficult type of tracking. May of 2007 White River sent a 3rd Bloodhound to Salt Lake City Police Department, they named him "Chase". June 2008 we sent a 4th Bloodhound to Salt Lake City. They named him "Oliver" and a 5th bloodhound went to West Valley City, UT.
We are very thankful that the officers keep in contact with us and send us news clippings and pictures. Officer Serio and his dog J.J., along with Officer Richey, were and still are instrumental in working with us to get our dogs working in Salt Lake City. Officers Serio and Richey have dedicated many years to developing, training, living and breathing the Bloodhound program in Salt Lake. We are forever grateful. We are also grateful to the current handlers of all of our dogs. Thank you.
March 13, 2008 Officer Serio lost his best friend J.J. to cancer. It was an honor for us to have met J.J. and there will never be another like him. The Salt Lake City Police Department website has a tribute worth reading.
